Pa.te.os is a different type of hospitality. It is a place for you to feel at home, to live without limit of time, to feel free and connected with nature. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, four contemporary houses invite you to take part into a sensorial experience around the five core senses.

Through the sight of its majestic architecture,
the touch of organic and noble materials of its interior design,
the smell of a fragrance capturing the scents of the surrounding trees
and the ocean in the houses, the taste of its farm-to-table gastronomy,
and the sounds of living nature of Alentejo,

Pa.te.os stimulates your most beautiful memories.

“We want our guests to see, understand and feel the truth in this project. With no hidden tricks, Pa.te.os reflects the authenticity of materials without disregarding comfort and function, with the purpose of offering a genuine sensory experience.”  — Sofia and Miguel Charters

A modern house with a minimalist concrete facade echoes the style of luxury villas in Portugal, featuring a geometric entrance, sliding glass doors, light outdoor furniture, and a wooden patio against a clear blue sky.

With the architecture signed by the Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus, each house conveys an intense feeling of space and privacy among the preserved nature of Alentejo. The interiors are equipped with comfort and modernity, alongside immense sliding windows to contemplate the ocean. Designed like a refuge, Pa.te.os offers a different approach to the beach hotels in Portugal.

The owners’ intent was to explore the concept of patios to provide a spread-out use of the exterior, while maintaining seclusion and cooling in the summer. Like an extension of nature within the inhabitable space, Pa.te.os continuously suggests a dialogue between interior and exterior, sunlight and shade, thanks to the vernacular use of many courtyards contouring the houses. These patios are turned into the center pieces of Pa.te.os and became the eponym of the place.
