Recognising the power of scents to evoke memories, Sofia and Miguel imagined a signature fragrance for Pa.te.os.
They selected the British perfumer Lyn Harris to design an olfactory landscape of Pa.te.os which engages your senses inside the houses.
Harris is known for her sophisticated creations inspired from nature through her brands Miller Harris and Perfume H.

I wanted to bottle up this purity forever and intersect it with the materials of this unique project, such as the wood, the slate and the concrete with a hint of sea moss and pine. Upon arriving in Melides, Harris was captivated by the ocean horizon and the initial scents that greeted her. She infused these impressions into her creation, capturing the essence of the Alentejo trees surrounding Pa.te.os and the ocean breeze.
Pa.te.os’ sensorial experience continues throughout this olfactive journey. It is a chance to carry, enjoy and revive Pa.te.os’ memories with you back home.
Pa.te.os is part of an 80-hectare wine and farming property embedded in the nature, on the coast of Alentejo, with direct views over the ocean.
Located south of Comporta, the property is a 5-minute drive away from the authentic fishing village of Melides. Known for its charm and authenticity, the village also holds ancestral treasures of craftsmanship for guests to experience, such as the art of ceramic, tile works and more.
Bordered by a turquoise lagoon and the largest uninterrupted stretch of sand of Europe, Melides is a preserved area. Set in this unique and privileged environment, Pa.te.os’ surroundings are meant to be explored away from mass tourism.
Pa.te.os is located just over 1 hour drive from Lisbon, 10 minutes from Melides beaches and 20 minutes from Comporta and many other beaches of the coast of Alentejo.
We suggest that you come in an SUV or 4×4 for greater comfort on the final part of the journey. Leaving the main road, you will travel 2 km on an off road to reach Pa.te.os. Just enough to resume your connection with nature.
